Garrard has performed in Musicals includingThe Lion King (West End) and Robert North’s The Snowman, (Edinburgh Festival Theatre and Birmingham Rep), among many others. He has toured nationally with companies including State of Emergency, Tavaziva Dance, Phoenix Dance Company, Ballet Black, Union Dance Company, Aletta Collins Dance Company, and Sakoba Dance Theatre.
Gerrard’s class is influenced by Graham and release techniques. Through using floor and traveling phrases, the dancer will be challenged by the use of dynamic changes in weight and momentum; thereby encouraging and enhancing the dancer’s use of space, timing and expression whilst moving.

Dance Artists Forum Group
northantsDance have recently set up an informal network of local professional dance artists providing a much valued opportunity for dancers to meet, share ideas / projects and input into the wider picture of dance in Northamptonshire.
This will be the 3rd meeting; all local artists are encouraged to come along and join in / share ideas if they wish and have a social drink together afterwards.
When: Thurs 25th Feb 2010 6.30 – 8pm followed by drinks

Blue Eyed Soul Dance Company
50 Ways to lead a workshop
Blue Eyed Soul, are a leading force in the development of inclusive dance.
This day will look at:
- A ‘shopping trolley’ of inclusive dance ideas, tasks and games to take away.
- Insight into Blue Eyed Soul practice with sensory, physical and learning disabled participants and developing appropriate dance training methodology.
- A breakdown of good inclusive workshop practise from planning through to evaluation and exploration of the processes and techniques of making successful inclusive dance performance.
- A route towards complying with the Disability Discrimination Act.
- Carefully prepared handouts covering a wide range of issues such as medical/ social models of disability and health and safety.
The 50 Ways workshop is led by a team of disabled and non - disabled dance artists. The day is structured into practical dance tasks and exploration, discussion and the sharing of useful information, including areas to consider when leading a workshop. Time will also be given to specific questions that workshop participants may have. Two experts in dance who will guide participants through the company’s approaches and working strategies lead the training. All participants will be invited to dance together and explore for themselves Blue Eyed Soul’s unique approaches in a safe and supportive environment. It does not matter if participants have no or little experience in dance.
